Supplier Quality Assurance Technician in Grimsby

Salary: £35,000 - 40,000 per annum
The Job:
Primestaff are working with our well-established client to recruit for an experienced Supplier Quality Assurance Technician to be based in Grimsby at their manufacturing site. Working as part of the procurement team the role will focus on the Supplier Quality Assurance from product specification through to supplier part compliance.

The Duties:
This is a new role within the business and requires a self-starter with experience of establishing and implementing robust practical processes suitable to the operation and manage the external supplier base for a varied product range will be essential.

Duties and responsibilities of the successful candidate:

- SQA activities within the supply chain including: Product definition, ISIR sample submission, vendor rating, supplier assessment audits and performance reporting, as appropriate
- Collaborating closely with procurement, design and production departments to establish and publish practical specification and standards for supplied products
- Managing the parts quality implications of new product introduction and running change process
- Obtaining approval of production sample of new components from suppliers (ISIR/PPAP)
- Generating goods receiving inspection criteria and conducting sample checks, on key products
- Creation and completion of non-conformance reports (NCRs), identifying effective corrective and preventative actions at suppliers, disposition of materials/reworks and following improvement actions
- Providing feedback reports to suppliers and internal customers regarding product non-compliance and incident frequency with KPI analysis of cost of quality
- Application of discrete projects, focused on material handling process improvements including packaging, stillage’s and internal handling methods to production
- Having a European-wide supply base, occasional visits to overseas suppliers may be necessary

Skills and experience required:

- Relevant experience in a similar role within an OEM T1 Supplier or Industrial Manufacturing environment
- Experience in managing external suppliers and nurturing strong relations with internal stakeholders
- Have a recognised qualification or training level in Quality Management (CQI or QMS)
- Flexible approach and proactive attitude, working to a practical ‘hands-on’ ethos
- Demonstrable knowledge of problem solving techniques, such as 8D or similar
- Willingness to immerse yourself proactively in the daily manufacturing activities and supply chain
- A proven ability to identify opportunities to deliver continuous improvement

Hours of work are 39 hours Monday - Friday. Depending on experience salary will be based between £35- £40k per annum, pension, private health scheme, annual leave and free parking.
